VERMONT
On July 1st, 2018, Vermont became the 9th state in the USA to legalize recreational consumption of marijuana, and the 1st to do so through the state legislature, a historic act by a bold state government.
Although Governor Phil Scott signed the bill into law with "mixed emotions", many state residents rejoiced with their new ability to legally possess up to 1 ounce of marijuana, as well as 2 mature and 4 immature cannabis plants.

U.S. Representative
"Throughout my career in public policy and in public office, I have fought to reform or eliminate wasteful and ineffective government programs. There is no government program or policy I can think of that has failed in such a unique way as marijuana prohibition."
